Captain Kevin McCabe
“Anyone can focus on the numbers. What I love about fishing is everything else. The sounds, the movement on the water, that first light tap before you set the hook. When you really take it all in, you realize you’re not just out there to catch fish. You’re out there to experience it.” Captain Kevin
Captain Kevin McCabe has spent over five decades fishing the waters of Florida’s space coast and Indian River, earning a reputation for patience, precision, and mentorship. A USCG Master 100-ton licensed captain, he specializes in light tackle, inshore catch and release fishing for redfish, spotted seatrout, snook, tarpon, and black drum.
His journey began in 1973 on the docks and johnboats of Merritt Island and Sykes Creek. What started as boy’s passion for water grew into a lifelong pursuit across shores, flats, kayaks, canoes, bay boats, and shallow water skiffs. Over the years, he has guided anglers of all ages, but what defines his career is more than just the fish landed. It is the moments shared and the confidence built along the way.
Aboard his East Cape EVO 17, Captain Kevin welcomes both first-time anglers and seasoned fishermen. Clients value his calm instruction, attention to detail, and his ability to help them slow down and truly read the water.
For Captain Kevin, every trip is about more than the catch. It’s about connection, awareness, and creating memories that last long after the lines are reeled in.
